Your eye sight is precious, without it simple day to day activities such as making a cup of tea can become a challenge. Routine eye examinations are vitally important regardless of your age or your physical health.
During a comprehensive eye exam, your optometrist does more than just determine your prescription for spectacles or contact lenses.
Your eyes will be checked for common eye diseases such as cataracts and glaucoma in addition to being assessed as to how your eyes work together as a team and evaluate your eyes as an indicator of your overall health.
Often your optometrist will be the first healthcare professional to detect chronic systemic disease such as high blood pressure and diabetes.
At Denham opticians, we appreciate that some patients find it difficult to leave their home unattended and for that reason we do offer NHS home visiting services. Please enquire in store for more details.
At the Opticians in Denham, we have invested in a state of the art Retinal Camera allowing us to instantaneously image the Retina at the back of the eye. These images can then be assessed by the Optometrist to determine any potential problems. The main benefit of this technology is that the images can be kept on record so that on subsequent visits the images can be compared, to discover even very subtle changes making early diagnosis of potential problems easier. Our camera does not require any drops, however if the degree of cataract present on the pupils are very small this may be required. This can always be rearranged if not convenient on the day of the sight test. Since the drops dilate the pupils and the near vision gets blurred for several hours, we recommend you not to drive, post the instillation.
Sports spectacles/eye wear
We at Denham Opticians appreciate that playing sport with spectacles are not always practical, also in some cases the quality of vision obtained with contact lenses is not always suffice, hence we offer a range of sports eye wear, ranging from snooker to golf, all made to your prescription and requirements.
